Musical wedding invitation, with every guest's name in the song

A musical wedding invitation is an invitation sent as a short film set to a song instead of as a card. Gaana Invite by ShaadiMode is one where every guest gets their own copy: in the song's break a voice calls them by name, and their film keeps only the functions they are invited to.

Choose one of ten original songs — Bollywood romantic, Rajasthani folk, Sufi qawwali, 90s Bollywood, a Ganesh blessing, party songs for friends in English and Hindi, lo-fi Hinglish, and two in English. Each is about one and a half to two minutes long, made for a phone screen, and sent as a link on WhatsApp.

Under the film, each guest sees their own functions with dates and times, the venue with directions, and their invitation to reply.

For each guest

What every guest sees

  1. A WhatsApp message from the couple with a link to their song.

  2. One tap: the film plays with sound, in their phone's browser.

  3. The song stops and a voice calls them by name.

  4. Under the film: their functions, the venue with directions, and their invitation to reply.

How it works

How to make a musical wedding invitation

  1. Pick a song

Choose one of ten songs: Hindi, Rajasthani folk, Sufi, 90s Bollywood, a Ganesh blessing, two party songs for friends, lo-fi Hinglish, or two in English.

  2. Fill in who's in it

Your names and which comes first, both families with up to four relatives each, your functions with dates and times, the venue and the city. Your wedding's details are filled in already.

  3. Choose how each family is called

A person with ji, bhaiya or didi, or the whole family together. Write a name the way it sounds if it is often said wrong.

  4. Send each family their film

Each family gets their own link on WhatsApp. Their film keeps only the functions they are invited to.

Questions

Musical wedding invitations, answered

What is a musical wedding invitation?

A wedding invitation sent as a short video set to a song, usually on WhatsApp, instead of (or alongside) a printed card. Gaana Invite makes one where every guest is called by name.

Does every guest really hear their own name?

Yes. Each family's film is made for them: in the break after the first verse, a voice says their name — as a person with ji, bhaiya or didi, or as the whole family — and you can write how a name is said.

Which songs can I choose from?

Ten: Mahal Romance (Hindi Bollywood duet), Padharo Sa (Rajasthani folk), Mehfil (Sufi qawwali), 90s Wali Shaadi, Mangal Aashirwad (Ganesh blessing), Squad Anthem and Yaaron Ki Shaadi (friends, English and Hindi), Lo-fi Love (Hinglish), Watercolour Duet and Swing Soirée (English).

Are these film songs?

No. All ten are original songs made for ShaadiMode, in the styles people know from films and folk music.

Which functions can the invitation show?

Haldi, mehendi, sangeet, baraat, pheras and reception. Each guest's film keeps only the functions on their own invitation, so it is shorter for guests invited to fewer.

How do guests receive it?

As a link on WhatsApp. It opens in the phone's browser with nothing to install; one tap plays it with sound.

Can I send a different song to family and friends?

Yes. Make a family song and a friends' song and send each group its own.

How much does a musical wedding invitation cost?

On ShaadiMode, Plus (₹2,999 once per wedding) includes one Gaana Invite song and Signature (₹6,999) includes three, each with every guest called by name. Any other song is ₹499. On the free plan you can try one song (the first 30 seconds) and buy it for ₹499 as one film for all your guests.
