What to put on it
What goes on a save the date?
Your two names, the date, the city, and “invitation to follow”. That’s the whole job. Leave out the venue, the timings and the list of functions; those belong on the invitation, and they often change after the save the date goes out. A photo of the two of you is a nice extra, and several designs have room for one.
For friends, you can swap the card for a game: 4 short games, like Save the Groom, where the date shows up at the end. Elders get the card; the friends’ group gets the game. Each group can have its own.

What is a save the date?
A save the date is the first note guests get about a wedding: the couple's names, the date, the city, and a line that the full invitation will follow. It goes out before the invitation so guests can block the days, book leave and plan travel.
When should I send a save the date for an Indian wedding?
Most families send it three to six months before the first function. For a destination wedding, or when many guests need flights and leave, six to eight months is common. It only needs the date and city, so it can go out before the venue or the list of functions is final.
Is the save the date free?

Can I send a save the date on WhatsApp?
Yes. It is a link, so it opens inside WhatsApp's own browser on any phone, with nothing to install.
Can each family see their own name on the save the date?
Yes, on Plus. Every family gets its own link, and the save the date opens with that family's name on it. On Free there is one link you share with everyone.
Is a save the date different from the wedding invitation?
Yes. The save the date only fixes the date. The invitation comes later with the full details: every function, venues, timings, maps, dress codes and RSVP. On ShaadiMode both live on the same wedding, so guests who got the save the date later get the invitation from the same number.
What are the save the date games?
4 short games a friends' group can open instead of a card, such as Save the Groom, where they play a round before the date is revealed. They are meant for the friends' group, not for elders. One game is free; Plus gives a game per group.
