What should you know about Pellikuthuru?

Married women of the family apply turmeric and oil to the bride, bless her and dress her in a new saree with bangles and flowers. The groom has a similar ceremony at his home, called pellikoduku.

It is usually a family gathering with music and food and marks the start of the wedding rites.
