Questions

Wedding function order planner, answered

What is the order of functions in an Indian wedding?

In many North Indian families: roka and sagai months ahead, then Ganesh puja, mehndi, sangeet, haldi, the baraat, varmala, pheras and vidaai, and the reception after. Haldi and mehndi swap in many families, and every community adds its own rituals.

Does haldi come before mehndi?

It depends on the family. Many hold mehndi two days before and haldi on the wedding morning; others do haldi first. Both orders are common.

How many days does an Indian wedding take?

Most run two to three days of functions, with the roka and engagement held earlier and the reception after. Smaller weddings fit everything into one day.

Does the planner know my family's customs?

No. It follows a common North Indian order as a starting point. Move functions to match your family. Everything runs in your browser; nothing you type is sent to us or stored.
