Satyanarayan katha is a puja to Lord Vishnu that many Hindu families hold at the groom's home after the wedding, with the new couple, to give thanks and seek blessings.
About Satyanarayan katha
A priest reads the katha (story) while the couple sit together for the puja. It ends with an aarti and prasad, often sheera or panchamrit, shared with relatives and neighbours.
Many families also hold the same puja for a new home or other milestones. It is usually the first puja the new couple do together as a married pair.
